This graphic was created and used in an informational brochure for Portland Oregon’s number one sight-seeing and tourist activity, Portland Walking Tours. Portland is known for their love for outdoors and their proximity to nearby natural wonders and getaways. With this graphic, I tried to capture the essence of Portland by taking a photo from the city’s most advantageous point, The International Rose Test Garden looking east through the tree line, upon the city and past the hills further towards Mt. Hood. Portland, like Seattle, has this very calm mist defining the natural depth of field. I wanted to capture the soft mood of this laid back city in a very muted gray scale, layering depth to achieve a varied focal point to each of this cities treasures.
