After several years working in both the multimedia and post-production industry, I was fortunate enough to transition into the video game industry (1997), as Microsoft’s began ramping up for their second round of game development on the Windows platform. Since then, I have worked with Microsoft as a contractor on 5 commercially successful, highly praised,  AAA, multi-million dollar games that had either redefined the genre, or pushed their competitors to making bolder moves to catch up. I have been incredibly fortunate to work closely with the geniuses that were the in-house developers of each console, thus allowing me to creatively push the limits of the technologies that went into each title.

As a first party developer to the latest Microsoft entertainment console, Xbox360, I had the great advantage of working in tandem with some of the better known technological evangelists who were developing the technologies for the console concurrently. This allowed both the developers and artists maximize the true potential of our total resources.

This is where it all started. It is also the platform that I had continued to come back to to develop for. Two titles had gone on to become critically acclaimed and financially successful, while two other titles never made it out of the starting gate. Fortunately for me, these were two titles out of ten that had gotten axed, an incredible feat working in the industry.

This was Microsoft’s first foray into the game console world, competing against the likes of the already established behemoths, Sony, Sega and Nintendo. The teams I worked with always came in as the underdog and through great strides and performance as a team, always delivered top games that resulted in high praises amongst a plethora of critics.

NINTENDO
While I have never officially worked on a game for the Nintendo Gamecube, I have done work on a strategy guide to the commercially successful game, Luigi’s Mansion. Published by Prima Games, this was their first fully 3D rendered strategy guide. Prior to this, the guides consisted of in-game screen captures accompanied with 2D graphics.
