I had the pleasure of coming back to Microsoft to work on the follow up to the critically and commercially successful racer, Forza Motorsport.Working under the same track lead, I took on a more senior mentoring role to the newer team members. I was primarily responsible for building out a majority of the terrain, track, barriers, props and architecture for the Mugello course as well as prop construction and placement on a few other tracks. In addition I had some design input for a few architectural designs for the fictitious Maple Valley track.
I also took part in track researching, reference photographing and data collecting of the Lemans courses for the 3rd installment of Forza prior to finishing off my contract.
After noticing a few new artists struggle to locate what went were on the track, I designed and proposed a new archiving and retrieval system to help in better organizing reference photos, data and assets per track. Several parts of the proposal were later used as a base template to a successful system implemented on Forza 3 and all versions going forward. This system eventually saved thousands of dollars and countless man hours that were previously lost on artists and quality assurance.
During my contract I also designed the logo for the newly renamed racing studio, Turn 10. By designing this logo in house, I was able to save the studio several thousands of dollars by not having to go out of house for the design.
