Home Depot’s Home Improvement 1-2-3
This was the first of two “Do it yourself” Home Improvement CD-ROM multimedia titles I had worked on. I was responsible for the taking the original artwork from the annual award winning Home Depot Home Improvement 1-2-3 book and update the ”inking and painting” of several “how to” digital illustrations. This had involved creating vector paths for the outline and gradiated fills for print-like quality output.
Microsoft Reader’s Digest Complete Do-It-Yourself Guide
Reader’s Digest Complete Do-It-Yourself Guide is based on the world’s most popular home-repair book – The Reader’s Digest “New Complete Do-It-Yourself Manual,” which has sold millions of copies. I was responsible for modeling, lighting, and texturing over 20 animated sequences. The videos included in-depth, step-by-step directions and techniques demonstrating the use of hand and power tools.
Warren Millers Ski World ’97
This was the first multimedia CD-ROM that I had worked on which was tied into the concurrent release of the film, produced by the legendary skier/filmmaker Warren Miller. I was responsible for scanning in over 100 ski resort maps from around the world and recreate them as interactive ski trail maps. I had to use the stamp tool to remove each trail and then redraw each one onto one of the three difficulty layers.
Better Homes and Gardens: Cool Crafts
Better Homes and Gardens: Real Estate Kiosk
These were two separate titles I had worked on for Better Homes and Gardens during my time at Multicom Publishing. I had various responsibilities on each title ranging from 2D production to working as the graphic liaison between the producer and the contracted vendor; Evans, Peddle and Gregritt (EPG).
Microsoft Scholastic’s The Magic School Bus Explores the Solar System
Microsoft Rabbit Ears: How The Leopard Got His Spots
Microsoft Rabbit Ears: Paul Bunyan
I, along with 4 other “ink and paint” artists, was responsible for scanning, cleaning up, inking, and painting the original animator’s cells. Using traditional X-Sheets, we layed out, set-up and timed the audio to create multi-layered animations in Director.
